3Not for beginners...Jul 16, 2007
By C. S. Patterson "~*"
I began my search for some good grip strengthening equipment a few months ago...It was a pathetic sight, watching me fight & fuss with various jars & bottles, who's lids would just NOT come off for me!

First, I purchased the blue & red Gripmaster Hand Grips from Amazon...they were amazing, but you progress through them so quickly, that they become unchallenging after a couple weeks. So, Instead of spending another $12 on the black Gripmaster, I purchased these Valeo Grips.

I'm not thrilled. To strengthen your hands and forearms, it is recommended that you go for more repetitions, rather than high resistance. It is impossible for me to do more than 3 sets of 15-20 squeezes with these because the resistance is so tough. The handles themselves are not conducive to more reps. Once your hands become damp, they slide a bit, making it harder to squeeze and keep correct form.

For someone more advanced, I'm sure these will be fine for you, but for those just starting on a strengthening routine, I'd avoid these for now.

These things are awkward to handle and simply don't work well. Shell out the extra five bucks for some foam grips.

5GOOD PRODUCT FOR GRIP STRENGTH FOR THE PRICENov 08, 2008
By HARBINGER
I HAVE USED VALEO HAND GRIPS IN THE PAST AND FOUND THEM TO BE GOOD QUALITY AT AN INEXPENSIVE PRICE. YES, THEY WEAR OUT IF USED FIVE OR SIX TIMES A WEEK OVER A YEAR OR SO, BUT THEY DELIVER. MY SON, WHO IS A BLACK BELT IN HAPKIDO, AND I BOTH USE THESE AND FIND THAT THEY ARE GOOD FOR BOTH OF US IN DEVELOPING AND IMPROVING GRIP STRENGTH. THEY ARE AT ABOUT A MEDIUM LEVEL. NOT TOO EASY AND NOT TOO HARD. JUST ABOUT RIGHT FOR A PERSON WITH AN AVERAGE OR A LITTLE ABOVE GRIP STRENGTH TO STAY IN FORM OR DEVELOP FURTHER, DEPENDING UPON HOW MANY REPITITIONS YOU WANT TO DO.

There's not to much resistance and it make's it easy to do more reps. However, the grips kind of feel awkward in one hand and starts to hurt after a bit.
